Project Summary
This project investigates methods to recover rare earth elements from Alaska coal. To achieve this objective two major tasks will be performed:
- Mineralogical and REE content analysis of Alaskan coal and coal by-product feedstocks;
- Bio-weathering of Alaskan coal using previously characterized and novel microbial isolates.
