The temperature sensors in carbon strip vessels in the carbon strip circuit play a key role in gold recovery in Pogo mine, Alaska, as gold recovery is directly linked to the temperature in the strip vessels. Gold recovery may be lower if the temperature sensors are off even by a little. Therefore, there is an incentive to detect errors in the readings when the errors are still low and undetectable by typical statistical methods. This project uses data from the multi-sensor environment to monitor the strip circuit and determine if the temperature sensors are starting to stray.
