Preparing the Unemployed for the Mining Sector

What is TAACCCT?

TAACCCT (Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College Career Training) is a federal program funded through the Department of Labor's Education and Training Administration.

It provides funds to expand and improve education and career training programs that can be completed in two years or less, are suited for TAA-eligible​ workers, and prepare for employment in high-wage, high-skill occupations.

Who should apply?

  • Are you looking to get into the mining industry?
  • Are you frustrated with employment opportunities available to you?
  • Have you been forced to change careers due to foreign trade?
  • Are you an Alaskan looking for career opportunities?
  • Are you getting out of the military and unsure what to do next?

All Unemployed workers, especially those impacted by foreign trade. TAA eligible individuals, Alaska Natives, US Veterans are encouraged to see what we have to offer.

What programs are offered?

Starting in 2016 for a limited time we are excited to be able to offer the new Mining Mill Operations OE*. Qualified Mill Operators are in demand to fill open positions.

There are other programs offered throughout the state and available via distance learning.

  • Mine Diesel Mechanic
  • MSHA Training

Many programs are offered throughout the state and many are available through Distance Learning.
